Common questions

My entries don't show up on my other iPhone or iPad.

Auto Log syncs through iCloud. Check that both devices are signed in to the same Apple Account with iCloud turned on. Settings › iCloud in Auto Log shows when it last synced. A new device can take a few minutes to bring everything across.

How do I share a vehicle with my family?

In Auto Log, go to Settings › Share with Family, then invite people through Messages, Mail or a link. You choose whether each person can manage the vehicles or only log fuel and expenses. Inviting people needs Auto Log Pro; joining a household someone shares with you is free.

I bought Auto Log Pro but the app doesn't show it.

Go to Settings › Auto Log Pro and tap Restore Purchases, signed in to the Apple Account that bought it. With Family Sharing on, people in your Apple family get Pro too.

Why can't I change a vehicle's units or currency?

Once a vehicle has entries, its units and currency stay as they are, because entries are stored in the units they were typed in. To use different units, add the vehicle again with the units you want.

How do I get my data out?

Settings › Export CSV gives a spreadsheet of every fill-up, expense and odometer reading, for one vehicle or all of them. Business Mileage exports a year's trips with the IRS deduction.

How do I log fuel without opening the app?

Add the "Log fuel" widget to your home screen, or say "Log fuel in Auto Log" to Siri.

How do I delete my data?

Deleting a vehicle deletes its entries. To remove everything Auto Log keeps in iCloud, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then iCloud › Manage Account Storage › Auto Log, and delete its data. The privacy policy has more.
